Facilitates use of new materials   The trend in the aerospace industry is increased use of new advanced materials in airframe components. Materials such as composites and titanium, primarily for weight saving reasons.   This means that these materials and combination of these materials need to be assembled. Consequently, there is a need to drill holes. Drilling holes in such materials using conventional drilling is a great challenge.   Based on test results from Orbital Drilling™ in difficult materials, we are convinced that Orbital Drilling™ offers significant advantages over conventional drilling in such applications.
